	Established in 1986 as a trade nursery, the business has grown hugely over the last 20 years. In 1999 the wholesale nursery moved onto nearby agricultural land leaving the retail nursery on the original site which became The Plant Emporium. We supply good quality plants to keen gardeners and budding amateurs. All our staff have good horticultural knowledge and will be glad to help you choose the right plants. The plants from the wholesale nursery are available to our retail customers but we also stock the more traditional garden centre plants. Although plants are the most important item on sale here, we do stock related garden items. As an independent nursery we can source our furniture and pots from whoever catches our interest. The Orangery coffee shop and bistro in the Plant Emporium is very popular especially at the weekends (closed on Mondays). The Wholesale Nursery is used by our trade customers and is also our growing area. We have six hectares of container grown stock out on our field and also in polytunnels. The tunnels are not heated; they just provide protection from wind and excess water and also some shade. Our retail customers are welcome to choose from these plants (please note opening times) but should be aware that it is a working nursery with forklifts, tractors and other large vehicles moving around. Suitable footwear is recommended and we ask that children and dogs are strictly supervised.
